ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Last updated August 2026
Ride Motor Company wants everyone who visits ridemotorcompany.ca to find inventory, financing info, service details, and our locations without unnecessary barriers. This page explains what we aim for, what we already do, where we still have work, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
Our commitment
We design and maintain this website so customers, job applicants, and visitors can use it with a range of abilities, devices, and assistive technologies. Accessibility is part of how we build and review the site, not a one-time checklist.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA where those criteria apply to our pages and components. That is our working target. We do not claim full formal certification of every page at all times, because the site changes as inventory, content, and features ship.
Scope
This statement covers the public Ride Motor Company website at ridemotorcompany.ca, including inventory browsing, vehicle detail pages, financing and service information, resources content, careers pages, location pages, and legal pages such as this one.
It does not cover third-party sites we link to (lender portals, social networks, map providers, or payment tools), staff-only admin tools behind login, or offline materials you may receive in person at a dealership.
What we build for
In day-to-day product work we focus on:
- Keyboard use - main navigation, forms, dialogs, and primary actions should be reachable without a mouse.
- Screen readers and assistive tech - meaningful headings, labels on form fields, alt text on content images, and skip-friendly structure where we control the markup.
- Readable text and contrast - body copy and controls intended to meet AA contrast on our dark theme; we keep improving weak spots when we find them.
- Flexible layout - pages should remain usable when you zoom or use a smaller viewport.
- Clear feedback - form errors and success states should be visible in text, not color alone.
- Motion and media - we avoid auto-playing audio; decorative motion should not be required to complete a task.
Compatibility
We test and support current versions of major browsers on desktop and mobile (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge). The site is built to work with common assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, and JAWS when used with a supported browser.
Results can vary by device, OS, browser version, and assistive-tech settings. If something works in one setup and not another, tell us what you use so we can reproduce it.
Known limits
We are honest about gaps. Areas that may still cause friction include:
- Complex inventory filters, photo lightboxes, and map embeds, which can be harder with some assistive tools.
- Third-party widgets (maps, video hosts, chat or ad pixels) that we do not fully control.
- User-generated or partner-supplied images and documents that may lack complete alternative text or structured headings.
- PDF or downloadable files linked from the site, which may not meet the same standard as HTML pages.
- Older content we are still bringing up to the same bar as newer pages.
When we learn about a barrier, we prioritize fixes that block core tasks: finding a unit, contacting the dealership, applying for financing, booking service, or applying for a job.
How we improve
Accessibility work is ongoing. Our process includes:
- Building new pages and components with semantic HTML and accessible patterns first.
- Reviewing key customer flows during design and QA, including keyboard and screen-reader checks on major releases.
- Fixing reported issues in priority order based on severity and how many people they affect.
- Updating this statement when our standards, contact path, or known limits change in a material way.
